Dana (she/her) is a professionally trained ToLabor birth doula, birth photographer, and mother of two based in Richmond, VA, offering services through MyBirth.

Her journey to birth work began with her own experiences navigating the healthcare system with a chronic condition (shoutout to endometriosis). Through this, she discovered the power of being informed, asking a million questions, and true self care. She supports all types of births in all settings such as home, hospital, unmedicated, epidural, surgical, etc. 

The birth of her first child was physically, emotionally, and spiritually transformative, restoring her trust in her body and fueling her passion for helping others feel seen, heard, and empowered in their own birth experiences. 

Dana has an understanding of physiological birth, movement, and the mind-body connection, She helps her clients develop their individual birth preferences, and the unique toolset that they will use to cope with during labor. She also offers Birth Art sessions through Birthing From Within, providing parents a creative way to prepare for and process birth.

As a doula and photographer, Dana is passionate about witnessing and preserving life’s most transformative moments. Her images capture the beauty of birth; the intensity, the love, the happy tears. She turns fleeting moments into timeless reflections of strength and resilience.

Before birth work, Dana spent a decade in the jewelry industry in NYC, LA, and Richmond as a jeweler, designer, and business owner. When she’s not photographing or supporting clients, she’s at home being lovingly bossed around by her opinionated children. She enjoys singing loudly in the car, growing flowers that sometimes survive, making homemade soup, and attempting crafts with her kids ( but mostly making a mess).
